About IIT-JEE Advanced

JEE or Joint Entrance Exam is a common entrance examination conducted at all India level for facilitating admissions into different engineering colleges in India. JEE preparation demands the in–depth knowledge of the concepts as it is globally recognized as one of the most challenging engineering entrance examinations at the undergraduate level. Every year around 1.5 million students appear for this exam. Therefore, JEE preparation requires a smart, systematic and concerted effort.
Those who don’t go for the Mains Counselling Procedure may opt for this second phase of IIT JEE Exam Competitive Race i.e. Advanced. The difficulty level of the exam increases from Mains to Advanced. The JEE Advanced requires a few extra topics to be covered for the exam.
  • JEE Advanced will be fully operational in online mode only.
  • There are 2 papers in JEE Advanced and it is compulsory to appear for both the papers – Paper I and Paper II.
  • Both Paper I and Paper II had questions from 3 parts – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Time Allotted: 3 hrs for each paper
  • The questions are multiple choice or objective type and numerical in nature.
  • The exam is bilingual i.e English & Hindi.
  • Candidates can sit for the JEE Advanced exams for only two consecutive years.

Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1993. Five years relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1988.
Candidates should be among the top 2,24,000 (including all categories) in Paper-1 of JEE (Mains)
A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in current year.
A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

Students who crack JEE Advanced successfully will be able to join the undergraduate programs in Engineering, Architecture and Sciences at all IITs and ISM Dhanbad according to their All India Rank (AIR) in the exam.
Level of placements cycles is high as compared to other engineering exams and universities.
